Children’s Information Service
The Children's Information Service holds information on all registered carers within the Swindon area. They also try to maintain as much information about unregistered carers.
The Children’s Information Service provides free childcare advice and other information, such as Working Tax Credit, Nursery Education Funding, local services, Statement of Education Needs and childcare vouchers to assist parents and carers to meet individual needs. Rather than endorse or recommend individual provisions it aims to provide accurate, up-to-date, unbiased information about the care and early education of children and young people aged 0-14 years old (0-16 years old with special needs). A dedicated website for childcare services is available.
Personal Service
All information is provided on an individual basis and parents will receive person-to-person attention, either over the telephone or face to face. If you are planning to live outside of the Borough, they can direct you to the nearest Children’s Information Service, so that you can receive the same childcare information about your chosen location.
Swindon Children’s Information Service is also happy to offer a one-off drop-in service in the early stages of employee transfer, either at their place of work – perhaps in a lunch-time – so that parents and carers have access to the service.
The Children’s Information Service deals with parents individually and can be contacted on (01793) 541786 or by email.
